Greenbrier Receives Double-Stack Intermodal Order for Nearly 2,000 Wells

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore.

The Greenbrier Companies announced today that is has received an order for 1,950 intermodal wells from TTX Company for delivery in 2006. The value of the orders, which are subject to final TTX board approval, was not disclosed.

The Company's current new railcar backlog in North America and Europe is approximately 13,000 units valued at $750 million, compared with 12,300 units valued at $720 million at February 28, 2005. Over 70% of total backlog is for delivery of double-stack intermodal wells.
